In so doing, we seek people passionate about what they do and who thrive on seeking innovative solutions.With this in mind the City of Charles Sturt has one vacancy on the Council Assessment Panel (CAP) and is seeking expressions of interest from members of the public who would like to become an Independent Member of the CAP. The City of Charles Sturt’s CAP has been operating successfully for a number of years, acting as the relevant under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 (PDI Act), making decisions on planning applications. The CAP is also able to advise the Council on development assessment trends and issues. Further information on the CAP including the adopted Terms of Reference can be found here.The Independent Member will be appointed to the CAP until 30 April 2027. The CAP meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6.30pm. As required by the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016, the Panel consists of five (5) members of whom four (4) are independent of Council.Interested members of the public should possess qualifications or experience in one or more of the following fields - town planning, architecture or environmental management and be a Level 2 Accredited Professional under the PDI Act. Information in relation to the Accredited Professional Scheme may be viewed here.While not mandatory, preference will be given to people who have a sound knowledge of the issues relating to the Council area.
